Biography
Son of King Vittorio Emanuele III of Italy. His father transferred his powers to Umberto 1944-1946 while retaining the title of King. Succeeded his father as King Umberto II of Italy in conjunction with his abdication 1946. Dethroned and left the country under protest the same year.
