Biography
Second son of Duke Eugen and younger brother of Princess Josefina of Sweden, King Oscar I’s consort. Succeeded his brother Duke August as Duke 1835. Russian Imperial Highness 1839 in conjunction with his marriage to Grand Duchess Maria Nikolajevna.
