Biography
Oldest son of future King Kristian IX of Denmark. Crown Prince 1863. Succeeded his father as King Fredrik VIII 1906. Married Princess Lovisa of Sweden in 1869, daughter of King Karl XV. Received the order at a visit to Sweden and the collar in conjunction with the betrothal.
