Biography
Oldest son of Archduke Karl Ludwig, a younger brother to Emperor Franz Josef I. Archduke of Austria-Este 1875. Succeeded his father as Heir presumptive 1896. Shot to death by a Bosnian nationalist. This is considered to be the most immediate cause of World War I.
