Eighth son of Grand Duke Friedrich Franz II of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. Naturalized in the Netherlands under the name Hendrik and Prince of the Netherlands styled as Royal Highness 1901. Married Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands 1901.
