Biography
The daughter of Prince Christian August of Anhalt-Zerbst and his consort Princess Johanna of Holstein-Gottorp, sister of King Adolf Fredrik. Married Russian heir Grand Duke Petr Fedorovitj, Duke of Holstein-Gottorp, in 1745 who succeeded his aunt Empress Elisabeth as Emperor Petr III. Deposed her consort and became ruling Empress 1762.
