Biography

Third son of Duke Friedrich Christian of Schleswig-Holstein-Augustenburg. Elected Crown Prince of Sweden 1809. Adopted by King Carl XIII under the name Carl August 1810. Died of a stroke while inspecting troops at Kvidinge Hed.
