Biography
Oldest son of King Albert I of Belgium. Succeeded him as King Léopold III of Belgium 1934. In German captivity 1940-1945. Resumed Government 1950. Abdicated 1951.
Received the order in conjunction with his wedding to Princess Astrid of Sweden, daughter of Prince Carl of Sweden, Duke of Västergötland. Assigned the collar at King Gustaf V’s state visit to Belgium.
